Position
The Payment Posting Lead is responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely posting of payments received from insurance companies, patients, and third-party payers into the billing system. This role plays a critical part in the revenue cycle process by ensuring payment integrity, resolving posting discrepancies, and maintaining compliance with payer guidelines and regulatory requirements. In addition to hands-on payment posting responsibilities, the Payment Posting Lead provides day-to-day guidance, quality oversight, and support to the Payment Posting Specialists. Working in a diagnostic laboratory setting, this role collaborates closely with Billing, Coding, and Accounts Receivable teams to ensure accurate reconciliation, timely reporting, and continuous process improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor Payment Posting Specialists, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Accurately post and review payments from insurance companies, patients, and third-party payers in accordance with remittance advice (RA) and explanation of benefits (EOB).
- Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of payments, adjustments, and deposits.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve posting discrepancies, underpayments, overpayments, and denials.
- Provide day-to-day guidance, support, and escalation handling for Payment Posting Specialists.
- Monitor team productivity, accuracy, and turnaround times; conduct quality checks and provide feedback to ensure high performance.
- Collaborate with Billing, Coding, and Accounts Receivable teams to resolve posting issues and outstanding balances.
- Maintain compliance with payer guidelines, internal policies, and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA.
- Assist with reporting, audits, process improvements, and other related duties as assigned.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiencies, implement process enhancements, and ensure best practices within the team.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification or relevant college education preferred
- Minimum of 2–3 years of payment posting experience in a healthcare or diagnostic laboratory setting
- Prior experience acting as a senior specialist, subject-matter expert, or team lead is strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of medical billing practices and payment workflows
- Proficiency in electronic billing systems and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and lead a team effectively
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance requirements
Additional Details:
- Ideal start date: ASAP
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Work Location: Remote (PH)
- Job Type: Full-time
- Salary: Php 45,000-55,000 per month
