Position
The Payment Posting Specialist is responsible for accurately posting payments from insurance companies, patients, and third-party payers into the billing system. This role plays a vital part in the revenue cycle process by ensuring all payments are recorded correctly, discrepancies are resolved promptly, and accounts are balanced according to remittance advice and explanation of benefits (EOB) statements. Working in a diagnostic laboratory setting, the Payment Posting Specialist collaborates with billing, coding, and accounts receivable teams to maintain payment integrity, support compliance, and ensure timely reconciliation and reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately post payments received from insurance companies, patients, and other payers into the billing system
- Review payment discrepancies and resolve issues to ensure accurate posting
- Reconcile payments to the corresponding remittance advice and explanation of benefits statements
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies or denials, working closely with the billing and coding department
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal policies related to payment posting processes
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of payment postings, adjustments, and corrections
- Assist with payment reconciliation and reporting to management as needed
- Collaborate with the accounts receivable team to identify and resolve outstanding balances and account discrepancies
- Keep up-to-date with industry changes and payer guidelines to ensure accurate payment posting processes
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, with additional relevant certification or education preferred
- Proven experience in payment posting within a healthcare setting
- Strong understanding of medical billing practices
- Proficient in using electronic billing and payment systems, with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve payment discrepancies
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and compliance requirements
Additional Details:
- Ideal start date: June 16, 2025
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Work Location: Remote (Quezon City, PH)
- Job Type: Full-time
- Salary: Php 30,000-40,000 per month
