Job Title: Molecular PCR Technician – Infectious Disease Testing (Remote)
Job Summary:
This role involves performing molecular diagnostics, including RT-PCR testing for infectious diseases in a CLIA-regulated lab. The technician ensures test integrity through QC evaluation, accurate documentation, and strict compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
Perform PCR testing and analyze Ct values and amplification curves.
Review and validate test data for accuracy and reliability.
Evaluate QC metrics and escalate anomalies to the technical supervisor.
Maintain compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, and internal SOPs.
Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve testing discrepancies.
Escalate atypical findings to the technical supervisor for further review.
Document and maintain test records per CLIA standards.
Release valid results in accordance with lab SOPs.
Resolve technical problems and implement corrective actions.
Ensure patient results are not released until system issues are corrected.
Participate in continuing education and proficiency testing.
Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in lab science, biology, chemistry, or related field.
1+ year of experience in high-complexity molecular diagnostics.
Experience with RT-PCR and contamination control procedures.
Preferred certification: ASCP, AMT, AAB, or equivalent.
Work Schedule:
Shifts may include: 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM, or 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (Mountain Time)
